Kalos Church Volunteer Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct is a statement of our commitment to God, integrity and the highest ethical standards. This Code defines the standards of conduct that we expect from all volunteers, and guides us in making the best decisions while working together for the vision of Kalos Church. Every volunteer is responsible for reading, understanding and abiding by the Code. If you are under 18, please review this form with your parent or guardian. If you are unwilling or unable to follow the code of conduct, a member of the leadership team is happy to have a grace-filled conversation with you. While you are on the Kalos Church team you agree, to the best of your ability (we know people aren’t perfect), to the following:

  • Build a life with God

  • Cultivate a personal relationship with God (we understand people are at different places in faith, and we want to help volunteers consider, start or develop a relationship with Jesus)

  • Seek to build your life on the words and ways of Jesus as found in Scripture

  • Seek to follow the ways of Jesus

  • Have integrity in financial dealings and abstain from seeking financial gain from team role

  • Avoid the use of offensive material (e.g. vulgarities, sexual connotations, and racial or religious slurs).

  • Seek to honor scripture’s vision of sex and cohabitation, which God designed for the context of marriage.

  • Exercise caution with all potentially addictive behaviors and/or harmful substances.

  • Demonstrate Faithfulness

  • Regularly attend Sunday Gatherings and team meetings

  • Participate in the life of the Church

  • Follow through with commitments

  • Model sacrificial giving by financially supporting Kalos with tithes and offerings

  • Protect our Unity

  • Support the vision, theology, and culture of Kalos Church leadership

  • Abstain from slandering and dividing the people of Kalos

  • Safeguard confidential information.

  • Take action to report genuine, immediate concern for the health, wellbeing or safety of any person at risk due to their involvement in the Church, directly to key church leadership.

  • Ensure minors do not drink alcohol and no individual uses illegal drugs during the official Kalos Church function I am hosting including small groups, parties, get togethers, or events. Reinforce this rule by monitoring closely who is drinking alcohol and signing this agreement, accepting any and all liability as a result of failure to enforce this rule.
