CHURCH AT THE PARLOR
A Brand New Church in Downtown Bellevue, WA
JOIN US SUNDAYs AT 10:30AM
700 Bellevue Way NE #300, Bellevue, WA 98004
On the third floor of the Lincoln Square (next to the Cinemark Movie theatre)
If you're familiar with Bellevue, you might be wondering, "Does this church meet in a club?" The answer is Yes! Most of the time, the Parlor is a lounge, comedy club, restaurant and bar. On Sundays, we are making it a place for the church to gather. Instead of waiting for people to come to our church building, we're bringing the message of love and hope to where people are already gathering--the Parlor.
Pradeepan Jeeva @pradeepanjeeva
Pradeepan was born and raised by Sri Lankan Hindu Refugees in Minnesota. For the last 5 years, he served as a youth and young adults Pastor in Michigan, where he saw thousands of young people gather at a time to hear about Jesus (at a church on a dirt road, in between an apple orchard and a Christmas tree farm).
Amreitha Jeeva @amreitha
Amreitha was born in India and adopted by a family in small town Kansas. She currently serves as the co-founder of Landmine Design, a humanitarian organization that prevents sex-trafficking in Cambodia.
Together, they have a son named Obadiah and have worked in church ministry for over 10 years.
At Kalos Kids, your child won’t have a chance to be bored! Newborns (at 6 months old) through 5th graders have a ton of fun as they learn about Jesus through worship, age-specific lessons, and a variety of exciting activities. Our goal is to make Sunday your child’s favorite day of the week.
Kalos Kids is fully staffed with a highly trained team of leaders who are background checked and committed to ministering to children. You can be confident that your child is well-cared for and will love every second!
Check-in begins 30 minutes before our experience where you'll either register your child for the first time or if you've been before, you'll just check them in on one of our touch screens. Each child will receive a sticker tag and a parent tag that you'll need in order to pick them up after our experience is over.
Kalos means Beautiful in Greek. We all long for beauty. Unfortunately, many of us associate Jesus and the Church with all the ugly realities we’ve seen—abuse, hypocrisy and pain. And so we look for beauty in lesser things and find we are never satisfied. We all long for beauty, but the sweetest thing is to find where all beauty came from—Jesus.
Simply put, we are starting a church in the Parlor to make known the beauty of Jesus. We believe that the Church was always meant to beautiful—a community that brings healing for today and hope for tomorrow.
We will hold Sunday morning gatherings, create environments for friendships to form, help people explore their faith, and attempt to make a tangible difference in Bellevue.
“IN CONTEMPLATING THE SUFFERING OF CHRIST…WE SEE A BEAUTY WHICH TOOK ON OUR INFIRMITIES AND OVERCAME THEIR DARKNESS. IT IS A CHALLENGING BEAUTY, BUT A POWERFUL ONE—WITH POWER TO TRANSFORM OUR OWN SUFFERING AND LACK OF BEAUTY. IT IS A BEAUTY THAT SHAKES US TO THE CORE, WHICH ILLUMINATES US, AND ULTIMATELY IS THE BEAUTY THAT WILL SAVE THE WORLD.”
R. JARED STAUDT
During a time of prayer, Pastor Pradeepan heard the Lord speak to him in a dream about planting a Church on the Eastside of Seattle. After scouting the area, talking with mentors, local pastors and the launch team, the decision to move to Bellevue was made.
Plus, it doesn’t hurt that it’s surrounded by oceans and mountains.
The Seattle area is one of the most unchurched regions in America
Bellevue is thriving in population and business growth. In the last five years, the median age has changed from 57 to 34. With more than 30% born out of country, it is now the largest majority-minority city in Washington. This city is filled with transplants, immigrants and locals who are looking for a purpose to believe in and a people to belong to. We believe that as we make known the beauty of Jesus, people will find exactly that. We believe something amazing is already taking place here and we want to be part of it.
