KALOS DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY (KDP)

The KDP is a process through spiritual assessment and personalized recommendations where you can track your spiritual habits and practices to reorient your life around Jesus while being planted in the house of God at Kalos Church (Psalm 92:13).

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” -Matthew 16:24

Jesus led his disciples to grow in their spiritual practices not so they would do more for God but so they could be with Him and be transformed by Him. The goal of having daily, weekly, monthly, and annual rhythms that center around Jesus is not a process of transaction but of transformation by his spirit. The truth is, you can check off all the boxes and not be a disciple of Jesus. We never graduate from becoming more like Christ. Each of us is on a journey to be conformed to His image (Rom 8:29).

We believe the success of the KDP happens within a church community. Why? Because each of us needs a shepherd who knows the condition of our hearts and can walk with us on our spiritual journey (Prov. 27:23). Each of us is also a valuable member of the body of Christ called to encourage one another in our faith (Heb. 3:13). While this is not a mentorship program and the onus is on you to reorient your life around Christ, the best way to get started on this journey is to participate in the spiritual rhythms Kalos Church already facilitates.

“Transformation is possible if we are willing to arrange our lives around the practices, rhythms, and truths that Jesus himself did, which will open our lives to God’s power to change. Said another way, we can be transformed if we are willing to be discipled by Jesus. Then and only then can we become the people we ache to be and live the lives we were destined for.” - John Mark Comer

A disciple or apprentice is someone who spends time with Jesus, becomes more like Jesus and does what Jesus did.

We chose 10 habits or practices we see in scripture that Jesus’ earliest followers lived by to become disciples or apprentices of Jesus Christ. They are both personal and corporate rhythms. In our busy modern era, we find these practices to be relevant, doable and vital for a vibrant life in Christ. Think of them as ongoing habits of communion with God.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • An individual takes the spiritual assessment and has an opportunity to opt into the KDP (sign up below)

  • They receive an email with their assessment results, explanation of the KDP process, and Kalos corporate rhythms

  • Individuals begin adding corporate practices into their life rhythms

  • Individuals take the assessment again at the beginning of the next small group season to track their progress

  • This happens twice a year
