A 9 Month wait…
Kalos is expanding! If you haven’t heard the news, Kalos has been in a 6-12 month process of obtaining the lease into the space next door. What once was a Hindu temple will become our new sanctuary space. In July we were granted the keys, and as of the end of August the previous tenant has moved their religious services out! God is moving, and we’re so excited to be a part of His plan in the city of Bellevue.
Despite the physical delays, planning has been in full swing, including:
Architectural Design
Interior Design
Contractor sourcing
Plumbing and Electrical Permitting
Saving, investing and budgeting from our 2025 Legacy offering
The primary vision for the expansion is to increase our sanctuary space. As many of you have witnessed, we often become standing room only— especially on special occasions like Easter or Christmas. We’re so blessed to share that with this expansion, we expect to hold upwards of 440 people seated!
We’re so excited to share with you updates on the progress, and we will continue to provide more news as the changes become tangible. Until now, we have been so grateful to see how God is showing up for us in this project. God’s additional provisions include our Landlord truly partnering with us (offering a rental rate well below the market value of the area) and we are in their favor for future lease extensions. Kalos, you as a church have also been a part of this journey, and we would not be sharing these updates if it wasn’t for your generosity through last year’s Legacy offering. We raised over $700,000 (when our goal was $400,000!)
God willing, here’s what’s to come:
Hosting prayer meetings in the new space in the fall
Continued planning for the space and finalizing budgets
In 2027, we’re looking forward to being in full construction mode, with our dream goal of hosting Easter in the new sanctuary.
